&lt;p&gt;I purchased 2 new belts from Martin.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;My very limited tech skills appear not to have worked.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I fitted the belts yesterday - the wider of the belts to the large grey spindle and the thinner to the white cog.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Wrong way round or just totally wrong??&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;When I press the play or fast forward/rewind the&amp;nbsp;tape head&amp;nbsp;appears to engage but only for a second.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In short,&amp;nbsp;the tape mechanismn trys to fuction but wont. &lt;/p&gt;
