The 6500 CPU board was sold as an upgrade to 5500. On that board it was some extra components to manage the aux port. The most usefull part with the 6500 board upgrade exceept for the possibility to use beolink 7000 is that the clock works when the power fails.

For those ho have time; it is possible to rebuild the board on a 5500 to a 6500, it takes some parts and two hours of soldering. As I recall the processor, clockchip, eprom and crystal has to be replaced. A new IC on the back side of the board and some wires to enable the larger eprom. A few passive components. And it works!

Re: Replacing / upgrade software in Beomaster 6500

Thanks.

Re: Replacing / upgrade software in Beomaster 6500

I think, it was revision 1.3 for the BM7000.

Re: Replacing / upgrade software in Beomaster 6500

I think, it was revision 1.3 for the BM7000.

Re: Replacing / upgrade software in Beomaster 6500

Die_Bogener:

Yes, 5500 -6500- 7000 look very similar.

If so, what preparations would i have to do to make this "upgrade" possible ?

Thank you for your input !
