Welcome to Beoworld !

Just wanted to make sure that you put in a 40 mA (rather then 40 A) fuse ?

There' will be a problem in the logic control of the amplifier.
A bit hard to diagnose "per remote" but if you have a multimeter and a bit of
electronic knowledge, we can guide you along a bit.
If you are not sure this is a task for you, I recommend you bring it in for service.
It doesn't sound like an expensive repair to me. Most likely candidates are rectifier and one or more capacitors.

One of my beolab penta´s just stopped working, no light no nothing. I checked the fuses and the 40amp one was blown, i replaced it and it blew again. What could be the problem and were should i start to look?

Anyone had a similar problem with there pentas?

Now I cannot find another 40 mA fuse in entire Oslo. The closest I found was 50 mA. Is it OK to use it or should I keep trying to find exactly 40 mA one?

Re: Problem with Beolab Penta (Beolab 150)

I normally do older stuff but I have serviced some Beolab Penta's and if I remember correctly there is a cover held by a single screw in the connector bay.

Usually, there's a reason for a fuse to blow but I've had more than one case where a fuse was actually the only faulty component in a Beolab Penta. There are two fuses in each speaker, one for the amplifier section and one for the electronics (link control etc.). Make sure you replace with the same type and rating of fuse. In your case, with no light at all, the fuse for the eclectronics would be the most interesting one.

Of course there can be other causes but checking the fuses would be the place to begin.

Martin

Re: Problem with Beolab Penta (Beolab 150)

Thanks for help, it may be the problem actually!

But I cannot get inside the bottom of speaker (amplifier) -- it seems to be locked from inside..
