I bought a bunch of LP, one of which was a EP. The problem is that when I play this EP, it sounds really slow and I presume that the rotation-speed is to slow.
I dont understand if my beocenter 1800 is broken, but I can't seem to find any way of changing the speed. Where can I find this button?

Re: Beocenter 1800

I suppose you tried guiding the tonearm to the end-of-record position ?
Normally, it will then raise the arm, take it back to its parked position and stop the platter motor.

Martin

Re: Beocenter 1800

Thanks a lot, Martin

someone had put some glue to panels, i've loosen them with a lot of care. Anything is ok. The panels are black plastic with a white surface. I' ve got them off without a damage.

Wilfried

OK, the Turntable is off, there are four screws on left and also four on the right side. you have only to lose them, don't turn them totally out. Than it is possible to take the turntable off. The RIAA cable is plugged as you told, the powercable is welded.

Do you have any idea, why the turntable turns all the time, when power is on? Also when power is switched to Tape or Radio?

Re: Beocenter 1800

The two screws may not be obvious but are vertical and with heads down.

If they are not there I take it that the sides on your Beocenter is black plastic with white surface rather than covered aluminum.

The plastic panel sides are pressed on. You need to lever them off gently using a flat tool of some kind, spatula, screwdriver or similar inserted from below.

Martin

Re: Beocenter 1800

Hi Martin,

because there are no screws on the back, it seems to be the one with the screws on left and right. But how to take off the white panels?

This kind of cables i saw at the 3300 Center and i think some problemes are the same, lift and function of the tonearm.

Wilfried

Re: Beocenter 1800

When it comes to opening the unit there are two types of Beocenter 1800.
One has two screws at the back side, the other has screws along the left and right sides behind the (wooden or white) side panels.
Then slide the whole turntable section a bit towards the rear and lift it off.
Beware of the cables for power to the turntable motor and signal cable from the tonearm to the RIAA amplifier, the latter has a plug at the circuit board.

Martin

Beocenter 1800

Hi, it's me again

Today i've got my new old Beocenter 1800

Condition is good for a 30 Year old Music-Center. Only 1 lamp is damaged and the turntable needs some inspection. I own the service manual but no instruction, how to open the chassis of this nice Beocenter. Can you give me a hand how to fix this problem?

One problem of the turntable is, it turns all times, as soon as the power is "on", everytime, wether FM or tape is detected and stopps turning, when power is "off".

regards

Wilfried
