I suppose the face plate (along with all its electronics) would just lift off after you remove those two screws on its top corners, accessible after removing the keyboard.

Re: 5500 BeoCord face plate?

Anyone care to help?

5500 BeoCord face plate?

Hi all,

My first post here. I recently aquired off of ebay a BeoCord 5500 cassette deck. It appears that this was not packed very well (the box it came in was three meat packing boxes taped together!) with the result being the face plate appears to have been damaged slightly. It looks like the metal behind the plate has been bent a bit on the left side. The on/off switch on the right works but I can't tell if the open button is not functioning or if the belt has broken (my guess would be both). So, my question is how do I remove the faceplate? I'd like to try my hand at bending it back into shape. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
