There will be no stone unturned.

Re: First B&O piece purchased - am I excited ! Hopefully your US one will as well! It is on the service manual! I would suggest getting a European Beogram 4000/4002. You can buy a step up transformer anyway for the Beomaster if you really have to!

The obvious CD player is the CDX which can work with any of the Beomaster right back to the 900! I use one with my 4400.

First B&O piece purchased - am I excited ! While it is the USA model, I think ( someone please correct me here if I'm wrong ) that the Beomaster 4000 should also work for 230 volts 50Hz, assuming the USA model 2408 only changed in its mains voltage. Via a switch on the underside perhaps ?

On the rear of the unit it says " AC supply unswitched " What does this mean ?

If I have pulled the trigger too early - is it possible to change the power transformer, or purchase an inverter ?

I would like to purchase an early turntable of the same vintage, like the Beogram 4000 or 4002. Can the voltage be successfully changed ( to 230 or 240 volts, 50Hz ), if needs be?

I'm asking this as I am located in Australia, in Tasmania to be precise, well out of town in the boonies....

Now, which model of CD player, if any could be used with the 4000 and speakers..........

Your comments/opinions are invited and welcomed. Thanks.

I need calming down a tad methinks :-)

cheers

richard
