It should be 2g for the SP14. Remember these are old cartridges and it could be worn. The SP12 would be better and tracks at 1.2g.

Re: Beogram 1202...cartridge

Hi, i have just purchased a beogram 1202 which has a sp14 cartridge fitted, the sound just doent seem very crisp compared to my current turntable.

I dont know if this is just what these turntables sound like or could this be because of there being an sp14 fitted rather than a sp12 or sp10?

Hope you can help, id love to keep the 1202, it looks so good!... just doent sound quite right!

Re: Beogram 1202...cartridge

thanks! The SP12 would be regarded as an upgrade. The SP14 will work but is really a replacement for the SP6/7 which was designed for the earlier Beogram 1000. The compliance differs slightly.

The A bit of the nomenclature refers to the cartridge rather than the stylus. A means that the cartridge will simply fit into the B&O arm by means of the pins on the cartridge. B&O did however also supply a cartridge body with a 1/2" mounting bracket built in and this model did not have the A after the model number. The stylus, which in this range of cartridges was detachable, would fit either model.

Beogram 1202...cartridge

Hello,
