I am in discussions with a Beoworld user about picking up some S50's, on his recommendaion. They sound like a great idea to me...

S45.2s have a S45 badge on the front - only on the back is the .2 recognised. You can tell them from S45s because they have an extra metal trim on the rear and the back is flat black vinyl. They are definitely the ones to have though S75s are another option is you want more base. The 4600 amplifier is a good one and quite capable of driving S75s.

The Beovox S45.2's are almost identical to the original S45's

Try local ad-sites and and ad-fields in newspapers, sometimes way cheaper than online auction sites!

That's quite a collection! Great, those were the very speakers I thought I should be looking for- although the 45.2 is new to me... I will have a look around, unless anyone has any suggestions as to where I might find them? I am on eBay and Gumtree fairly regularly...

A pair of Beovox S-30/35/40/45/45.2 (all those are similar in size and capacity, the 45's are 3-way) would be a great addition to your Beocenter 4600. You will be infected by the so-called "Beovirus" when you get the system up and running; You get blood on the tooth, lusting after more B&O

These small bookshelf speakers are normally cheap and very well sounding.

My B&O story started in a receiver from the same period as your 4600, I have since 2008 expanded the family to 5 turntables, 5 receivers, 6 cassette decks, 4 pairs of speakers and a 90's Beocenter.

Hi everyone, this is my first post, so please be gentle with me...

I was amazed to see how accessible vintage B&O products are (financially speaking) and bought myself a PRISTINE Beocenter 4600 (1979) for £50 last weekend. Can anyone suggest a set of speakers that will match the quality (and price!) of that first purchase?

Am I allowed to say that they don't HAVE to be B&O?!
