Without power, connect your multimeter at the red arrows and measure ohms, move the volume slider slowly from side to side while observing your ohm reading, if it stays same while moving, if it jumps while moving, or shows more than 20 ohms, the poti is bad or dirty. Look on the other side of the poti, you will see the same 3 legs connect to the middle leg and the left or right leg, same procedure here.
