Excellent, what a good spot. Toggling the SOUND button can adjust Bass and Treble. Thank you so much.

Just now need to know how I can access the Radio, FM and AM, and change frequencies, store stations etc.

Any clues there please?

I could not afford a genuine Biolink 1000 remote and settled on a generic copy.

Selection of CD, Tuner, Tape 1 and Phono works well as does the shift element to give Tape 2 and Aux. However, following the functions of the genuine remote it will not get "balance" or allow any control for radio at all.

I can't really afford to buy any more equipment and am sure someone else will make better use of the BM7000.

After purchasing these items I find that the generic remote will operated most functions but is not able to adjust balance or select any radio stations.

Which remote do you use? And the BeoMaster is compatible with every turntable (I guess even a 78RPM player will play) , it just requires an external RIAA pre-amplifier if the optional RIAA pre-amplifier is not mounted in the BeoMaster.

The Converter could be faulty or not functioning with your system, I have seen a couple problems with the commercial 4-wired ones as they are made for tape recorders. For the price of a male 5-pin DIN plug and RCA cable you can test it. Try the cable on "tape" with a CD-player.

My lead is a DIN to 4 RCA plugs and I did wonder about the internal wiring. However, with 4 leads, I did connect one at a time and should have had some result. Unfortunately, there was no sound on any of the leads.

The 7000 can be remote controlled by a Beolink 1000, very easy to obtain cheaply.

The Record player is compatible with the Beomaster. Beoworld Member Peter Pan has made a whole bunch of easy-to-read diagrams of DIN-connections. If you use this diagram: Look at the red and blue leads, these are for sound going in the direction of the DIN-plug. "Højre ind" means Right channel in and "Venstre ind" means Left channel in.

Luckily, I had received a decent amount of money for a 30 year old Pioneer SX1280 receiver (£750) and thought I would splash out on a bit of B&O kit. I should have researched first and been aware of any drawbacks.

As a OAP, I really don't want to throw any more money at it especially if it is never going to be compatible with the turntable.

My best course is to sell the item and replace it with something more suitable.

Hmmm....

Are you using a phono/DIN adapter lead? It must be wired for output on pins 2,3 & 5 (2 = common ground, 3 & 5 are left & right channels) a lot of adapter leads are wired 1,2 & 4.

Please don't bin a 7000 system, it is the most valuable of the stackable series being the last one. You should get it repaired instead

Just tried once more. Had CD running and placed record on platter and in play. Changed from CD to Phono - nothing. Turned volume up to maximum but the only thing audible was coming from the CD !

I'm obviously not a B & O fan after all this fuss and, if I can't sell it, will condemn it to the dustbin and put it all down to an expensive mistake.

Maybe one of my grandchildern will buy me an Ipod for Christmas.

The problem is more than likely to be a lack of RIAA phono preamp. The Beomaster 7000 does not have RIAA in the phono as it was fitted to the matching Beogram 7000 turntable instead.

Is there very low sound when you turn the volume up? if so then it will be a RIAA problem - you can fit an external one between your turntable & the Beomaster.
