Thanks for your reply Eugenio. I've had a closer look at the motor assembly. The spindle on the motor isn't touching anything, the noise seems to be coming from inside the motor itself. I've put a video here:

http://youtu.be/Rr-reLZXWnE

I'm assuming that I'm going to need a new motor assembly, including the little circuit board and wires that are attached to it, from a scavenged Beocenter 2200. I don't suppose anybody has one for sale? I know it's not supposed to be one of the finest B&O's out there, but I love the thing!

Thanks,

I recently got my Beocenter 2200 out of storage - I've finally moved into a house big enough to set it up and use it!

At first the turntable motor was stuck - when I pressed 'phono' it would try to start (you could hear the motor buzz/hum) but the turntable wouldn't move. I took the Beocenter apart and gave the motor a little twist to help it along. It worked, in that the motor now happily powers the turntable, but it now makes a continuous clicking sound when it is playing. I'm almost certain the clicking sound is coming from the motor.

I've put a video of the problem on youtube - you can hear the clicking noise:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFXFSUdBetw

Can anyone advise me what to do? Have I damaged the motor? Can I replace it? Can I even get a replacement motor? Is that a horrible job?

I'm happy enough taking the machine apart to clean it and replace belts, but my electrical skills aren't up to much.

Thanks in advance for your help.
