Still have it but it's in storage (can't try removing the sides).

I seem to remember that the side panels just pull off. I think I did it by hand and from the bottom side (rather than from the top).

Re: beocenter 1400

Hello Mika, thanks for the tip, it works!

It's always a great moment when you find the sealed enveloppe with the schematics inside...

The other surprise is that the cassette deck runs at the right speed nearly forty years after, and that the belt has not melted around in comparison of more recent products...I've had a big cleaning job recently on a Beocord 8000

The service manual simply shows to pry
the end plate (not the top) off with a flat screwdriver at the top
corner, next to the cassette buttons. Apparently it snaps on somehow.
Then you should find two screws at the side of the machine along the top
edge.

I've never seen one of these personally, so pay attention
to where you insert the screwdriver (or wait a bit until somebody
else tells you more)

beocenter 1400

Hello beoworld community, I'm new on this forum

Just found a Beocenter 1400 at a flea market, the unit is working fine but I want to have a look on the cassette deck. I thought the dismantling process was to be as simple as for a 901, but I' can't see how to remove the wooden upper panel (right side)

I simply can't get to the side screws on the side of the cassette deck??? There must be some simple way to remove it?

Help!

Philippe
