If a transfomer itself is humming it can in some cases be cured bijusing plastic spray on the transformer, but since this transformer is potted with potting mass plastic spray won&amp;#39;t cure it. And that again could be caused by a fault in the transformer itself or&lt;br /&gt;it could be a sign of struggle to keep up with a too high idle current caused by bad trimmers&lt;br /&gt;in the amplifiers and/or bad capacitors in the power supply.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#39;ve recently taken the plunge into the vintage B&amp;amp;O world with a slightly unloved Beomaster 1200 off eBay &amp;ndash; she&amp;#39;s missing her tuning slider but has all her other sliders and still powers up and bring life to my Beogram 1000 and RL1000s. I&amp;#39;d like to get her in tip-top condition but the big problem is that there is a definite audible buzz (not a hum but a buzz) coming from what seems like the right-hand of the amp from the moment I power on.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#39;m a novice when it comes to electronics but am eager to learn!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If anyone can help I&amp;#39;d be very greatful&lt;/p&gt;
