The cracking noise will probably be down to a bad solder joint somewhere in the Beomaster. I had a similar symptom with my Beomaster 8000 and this was te solution (several dry joints on the amplifier circuit board)!

As always, a new set of caps should be contemplated!

Re: Newbie on site, I feel like a child once again

Speakers are back from re-foaming, I noticed a craking noise when I turn on the BM5500 and a humming noise but then it goes away and they sound awasome, anyone here knows what is the crack nad humming comming from?, I'm trying to search on it but not getting much...

If there is a grey box at the base, it is a lab. A Beovox is easy to connect - two pin DIN speakers cables are all you need.

Re: Newbie on site, I feel like a child once again

grillomex:

Hey Beoworld, Im so excited to join, I just recently purchased a pair of Boevox pentas, still trying to figure out which are they, I II or III,

Welcome to Beoworld.

The BeoVOX penta's were passive speakers & only one incarnation were produced which would make them MK1's I suppose. It was the BeoLAB (active/powered) penta's which came in MK's 1,2 & 3.

Chris.
