congrats to your BM4000 being back.

Looks like it has a dial up to 108MHz (counting the numbers on the printing). Is this true?

I've newer seen a BM4000 up to 108 while some of the BM3000 do. Surely a US-model then?

What kind of FM antenna connector is it; the round 75Ohm or the 2-spade 240Ohm? My BM3000 / 108 has the 240Ohm only while the 104 ones have the 75Ohm one only.

So happy listening; I have one yet to fix as it has a temporary fault suddenly playing loud & treble only on one channel. Resoldering helped but still faulty sometimes. Otherwise yes it sounds great.

Yes, US model to "108." 107.9 is the official high end of the US FM dial. My BM4000 has the round 75 ohm (which I'm using with a simple folded dipole) and the 2-spade 240 ohm.

"Steampunk" was the vibe I was going for, for better for worse. Need a different knob I think, but the lettering is perfect.

I am very happy to report the "Tape 1 Switch" I built based on the old parallel printer switch works like a charm! No background noise, no crosstalk, and the ability to record to both tape decks. Just waiting on receipt of an outboard preamp to add the RX 2 into the mix as a second turntable (you know, for the crappy records that you don't want your new Soundsmith cartridge to touch!).

I haven't done any serious listening to the BM4000 yet, just the typical "make sure stuff works" listening everyone does on setup. So far everything seems great!

This weekend I plan to work a bit on the BG3404, and try out my new SMMC20EN. That will be the time for some serious listening.

The BM4000 was received back from the shop on Tuesday, and I have now integrated her back into the system. Also integrated into the system are the BM4000 Tape 1 switch and a new (to me) BG3404.

I just counted those on my 3000 and I find at least 65!!!

I hope your 4000 is returned to you ASAP.

The phono accessories box is on the rack next to the BG4002, and the other is a few shelves below next to the BC4500.

Ordnung muss sein, I also have some kind of box system.

The big appleton box contains all tools for electronics, on top of that, the Victorias Secret box contains my new multimeter, 1st to the right is a bucket I use for reuseable used parts, 2nd right is a desert dish I stole from the kittchen, containing parts from my down BM 901.

My son goes to DK to studie coming August, and if the fabric selector agree, I will use his room as my worhskop, I will then be able to place more boxes and buckets in sight.

I have a few of these boxes, two of which I finished to go with the stereo. The one below obviously has all my phono accessories, and the other has 30 some cassettes in it.

Michael's, a chain of craft stores whose clientele is probably 90% female. It is marketed as a "photograph box" and sold unfinished as below for about $6.

Nice second-life use for that switch and a nice project !
I think, I would have chosen shielded leads and connected directly to the switch rather than the DB25's.
Well, maybe you can add alu foil to the inside of the box to shield from noise etc.
but the telecom leads may still worsen the signal separation (capacitance between close parallel leads).

I'm sure, it will look wonderful. Where did you buy the wooden box ?

Another shot of the front.

The idea is to tear down the audio rack next weekend and finish it with wax - assuming I receive the BM4000 back from Benny. There will be some adjustment of shelving. The selector switch - assuming it works - will be mounted under the shelf the BM4000 sits on. Put it all back together and be happy again.
