&lt;p&gt;i can get sound if i connect an external device like my dvd player or set top box, but don&amp;#39;t get much volume. it doesnt matter&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;if the volume control is at max or zero, it is exactly the same. so i can only get reasonable volume when the external device&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;is turned up to max. so i think my beocenter is acting purely as a conduit to connect my dvd or set top box to the speakers &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;and relying on the receiver of the external device for sound. does this mean my receiver has gone or is it more likely an electronic&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;or connection issue? &amp;nbsp;how can i work this out?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
