I have pretty much ruled out everything external causing the hum - I only have one record deck to test though so I suppose it could be that. I think it is the amp howver!

Yes I would be able to do it, and I would love to as well, I just don't usually offer a repair service - no real reason except logistics of it all and the worry of being sued should anything ever go wrong.. Maybe a little paranoid I know but that is the way things seem to be these days :(

BTW I assume you have absolutely ruled out external issues with the phone hum?

Thanks for the offer - I basically want the caps replacing, volume board fixing and the earth hum on the phono input looking at.

Is this something you would be able to do?

The water damage is only very light by the way.

Water damage is often not a good thing.

While I generally don't offer to repair, if you don't have any luck or the quotes are too high, as I have never looked at this range in the past I might be interested in aquiring it for experience.

Cheers for the reply - You are right, I should have said. The other one is dead. It got slightly water damaged whilst in storage but I should imagine the upper boards are ok, one of which has the volume pulley assembly on it!

I'm in Leicester but can deliver it or courier it to wherever it needs to go to be repaired!

Obvious questions include; where are you (I mean, where is the BM6000) and what problems does the 'spare' one have?

Presumably it is worse than the 'daily user' or you would simply swap them over!

As above really - It's in daily use but it is not in full working order as I'd like it to be... It's been faulty for a while but I have lived with it!

Faults are as follows -

- The amplifier trips out when the volume level reaches around 35-40

- The volume adjustment is sticky, so I have to open it up and move the pulley by hand

- There is quite an earth hum on the phono input

Thats pretty much it really! Happy to pay good money for anyone who wishes to repair this for me!

I have a spare BM6000 which can be butched for parts if necessary (I'm thinking volume assembly specifically)

I could do it if I had a) the time and b) the tools. Sadly, I have neither at the moment!

Any help appreciated!
