Actually this is what a beo4 should have looked like, about 80% of the display of a beo4 is always blank (i never understood the need for this big, empty display) so it could have fitted in this small display....:) and would have kept the 'bullit-proof' remote.

(Wanna swap for....hmmm...let's say.....a white 7000 set ????, kidding...)

Let me put some display pics here...

@Henrik, the battery holder is still the same in the newer link 1000 so can be fixed by recycling from an old beolink or just order a new one from a dealer.

(I replaced the completely gone ones on my terminal, this was the only thing wrong with it due to battery leakage, just replaced the metal bits with clean ones fron other beolink bits and pieces...).

I think this terminal was sold as an 'extra' as equipment at that time came with either an audio- or a video-terminal, hence it could be there are not so many around ??

Two small arrows ("") pointing to either "video" or "audio", indicating what system you are controlling. IIRC, there is also the occasional appearence of a "T", probably indicating "tape". (Do the bl1000 family of terminals send different codes when in v.tape/a.tape mode than in other source modes?)

edit: gaaahd, it seems like this forum software (from Microsoft) can't parse text including certain symbols such as arrows :)

When I was a kid I dreamed about the AV Terminal, I was fascinated by the "one remote for the whole system" idea.

Years later I bought a used one, I keep it in my bathroom (it's not mint condition...) to be able to control the livingroom system when doing, erm, the things you do in the bathroom. My terminal suffers from the "bad contacts in the battery holder" problem, btw. The thing that surprised me is that the "buttons" that surrounds the tiny display actually aren't buttons at all. They are, umm, nothing.

I have had one in the past. Useful in that you can see whether the remote is in audio or video mode but other than that it is really of no benefit over a standard Beolink 1000

A while ago i placed this in the Dutch section but didn't get much reply (maybe because it's uncommon ?) but i was wondering if anyone has or anyone has come across this long kind of link 1000 version with the little display in it.

It looks really great i find, and it's from mid 80's so i would expect quite some to be made...
