It&amp;#39;s a real simple fix - a new belt of the correct size, and Silicon Spray on all the runners, with which the cord comes in contact.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Nothing more complicated than that.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I would clean the laser with a cotton bud damped in iso propanol. If that doesn&amp;#39;t&amp;nbsp;cure it you are looking at &amp;pound;200+ to replace the CD mechanism.&lt;/p&gt;

The problem with the failure to start a CD is more complex and may require a considerable amount of time and know how or the replacement of the CD mechanism and interface board. Both these options are likely to be expensive.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;when &amp;#39;load cd&amp;#39; or CD button is touched he CD door tilts down slightly and stops. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;if CD button is touched again&amp;nbsp; it will close. i can slide the door manually open once it has tilted and it will close normally. once i have manually opened the door (which i shoudlnt do i know) i can load a CD and the door will close normally but another problem is the CD will not be read intially. i have to press CD 1-3 times before its read.&lt;/p&gt;
