Thanks for your reply.

It's amazing that those things can arrive when the beomaster is not in fonction.

I had the red dot, but after playing with the connectors, it was gone.

I'll try to control what i can, but i'm not very bright.

Thanks

If not, the worst case scenario is that the CPU was damaged by static electricity or some kind of voltage spike when you played with the connectors. The BM5000 unfortunately has very little internal protection for this. If this happened, the only way to fix it is to get a new processor chip (or preferably the complete CPU module) from a parts unit...

Could be also something less drastic, that just happened to occur at the same time. But there's no way of knowing without investigation, starting from the supply voltages, and replacing the caps in the CPU module. Faulty caps and unstable supply lines might prevent the processor from starting up.

Re: Beomaster 5000 problem

Hi,

The cable between the Beomaster and the Mcl2av has on one side Din plugs with 3 pins each, and on the other side the wires are free to connect to the Mcl2av.

Thanks

I initially replied to your post with the following proper working links, however my post went into moderation (the too many links rule) so I am doing a re-post ....

Beoworld product section says nothing about the BM 5000 being supported by this unit:

http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=978

Similarly beocentral says this unit came after the end of the BM 5000 product (superseded by the BM 5500):

http://www.beocentral.com/products/mcl2av

However this Beoworld thread may provide some insights:

http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/p/26317/204223.aspx

Also don't forget Beotech as a resource:
