I am awaiting a new cable from B&O, twin phono (for DVD) to 7pin din (for tape1 or 2 socket). I didn't/don't think it's cable related because the Audio CD plays fine but like you thought to eliminate this possibility. regards the 'design consideration you and I do not know about' who knows I hope not.
Any other thought are welcome.

thanks again

Re: LS6000 tv connected to DVD1 question about connecting to Beosystem5000

I do not know what the issue is: whether there is a problem with the cable, or the phono connections; or whether there is a design consideration you and I do not know about ... but just to help eliminate things, why not unplug the TAPE 1 DIN and try its phono plugs with the DVD1?

Also how long is the audio cable from the DVD1 to the BeoMaster ? And do you have a spare cable you could use to check the link-up with, or another combination of units to check the cable with ...

Re: LS6000 tv connected to DVD1 question about connecting to Beosystem5000

Update

Today I'm playing an audio CD in the DVD with the same above cables connected and it works, the TV shows the track information and the amp played all tracks. But the DVD sound cuts after 60 seconds

LS6000 tv connected to DVD1 question about connecting to Beosystem5000

Have LS6000 tv connected to DVD1 via 21pin (scart)
have then run phono cable from Audio Phono Output sockets L&R on DVD1 to Phono Inputs (Tape 2) on Beomaster 5000

further info...
Tape 1 din used for IPOD/IPHONE works fine, din connected
Newly repaired (thanks to forum thread) CD50 works fine, din connected
Beogram 5000 works fine, also
all controlled through the Master Control, which also I beleive work fine

result the DVD output (sound) is heard for only 60 seconds (through the Beovox S55 Speakers connected to the Beomaster 5000) and the system then goes into stand by... why?, should I be connecting into the din scocket of the Beomaster 5000 Tape 2 and if so why? (haven't got cable to test)

WHY!?...not after 5.1 sound arround but a fuller retro/vintage volume of sound which i get for only 60 seconds

have I a mute/standby problem? tape 2 related or is the 21 pin(scart)/DVD1 fighting for some reason
