I finally got around to replacing the capacitors. It was definitely the power supply caps that were causing the remote control &amp;quot;no transmission&amp;quot; issues, but i replaced them all.&lt;/p&gt;

Funny you suggest the digital camera trick. I literally just did that. There is definately a light coming out of the remote. They will only work with each other, and the BM5500/MCP5000 or BM5000/MCP5500 combo will not work. If they are compatible, try turning on a video camera on a mobile phone and press one of the buttons on the MCP.
