&lt;p&gt;I don&amp;#39;t know whether this helps but I have a Beomaster 1400 with an optional plug-in decoder board. This might give some idea of when Stereo was introduced.&lt;/p&gt;

Check out the &lt;a href="http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/t/28435.aspx"&gt;Workbench thread&lt;/a&gt; by Martin (username: Dillen) on his restoration of a Grand Prix Moderne valve set.
