The spider is the flexible inner support, often yellow'ish in color.
There are different ways of building speaker drivers but generally it sits
behind the main cone, supporting the outermost edge of the coil (and usually the
innermost edge of the cone which meet there) to the chassis (basket),
making sure the coil (and cone) movement is only in and out in a straight line, not sideways.

I have done this to all woofers of that type that have
passed by here and also to the one you bought from me.

As you may recal i bought a used P30 woofer from you (witch by the way works exelent) beacause the old one was "frozen" under transport,i think i have to reglue these also just as a precaution. I contacted a loudspeaker specialist in Bergen,Norway about the P45 woofer, and he claims to be able to repair al sorts of speakers no mather whats happend to them, but i think this is a rather expensive solution so i was hoping for a cheaper one.

The only way is to find a working driver from a donor Beovox P45.
These woofers fail at an alarming rate, especially in transport and when moving.
Magnets are glued on, the glue losens, the magnet dislocate and the
coil becomes stuck. Result is a completely frozen cone, producing no sound.
All P45 owners should really reinforce the glueing of their woofers magnets by
placing a line of glue around the magnet edge, where it meets the driver chassis.
2-comp. epoxy works good for this.

I am currently working on a solution to repair the stuck woofers so don't throw any bad
ones away just yet.

Eventualy was these woofers used in some of the other Beovox models in case i have to look for a donor speaker.
