&lt;p&gt;I remember seeing that in my dealer&amp;#39;s showroom in the late 1970&amp;#39;s, when I chose to invest (it was&amp;nbsp;a fortune, then) in my BeoMaster 3400. See how the design is very similar, and the push buttons are identical.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Definitely a Beomaster 1001 (as would also be readable on the top surface) and I agree it&amp;#39;s worth fixing.&lt;br /&gt;Is it white or light oak ?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The part that is taped to the top is the front part of the large slider.&lt;br /&gt;It should have three little fingerwheels and two nylon slider parts (these are often found stuck in dust in the&lt;br /&gt;groove in which they normally travel).&lt;/p&gt;
