I am not sure what that "secondary supply kit" contains but 6 hours work sound a lot.
Still, it doesn't sound expensive for 6 hours work.
If the repair cost is acceptable is for you to decide. I've seen nice working BM3000's sell
for much more than that.

I accepted an estimate, and would know what you think about :

they charged a secondary supply kit and 6 hours of work for 138€ + local charges (Tva)

Thanks for your reply.

For the heating, i don't really know. I used the beomaster with my computer to listen to music on beovox P45. One evening, i forgot to swith the beomaster off. The lusic was stopped but not the beomaster wich was on TAPE input, and not very loud. Next morning, i saw the beomaster was on, but i didn't touch it. When i came back to the computer in the afternoon, the beomaster was switched off, and i couldn't switch it on. So i changed the fuse (one was burned). But since, nothing happens when i will switch it on.

I did the rorating etc...., and the power switch doesn't have oxidation. The fuses are correct also, but it doesn't work.

I'm not very easy for mesuring the transformer, rectifier, etc....

I would prefer to give the beomaster to repar, but here, People in Beoshop are not very sympatic, so i don't know were to go.

If there's no power at all, you will have to look at the fuses once more.
Unplug from mains and rotate the voltage setting switch a couple of times back
and forth to break through eventual oxidation - remember to set it correctly again
before plugging back into mains.
The power switch can also have oxidation, that's very common but not as easy to fix
in that the switch itself needs to be taken completely apart and de-oxid'ed.
If all this is fine, you will have to measure around a bit. Transformer, rectifier
and so on. The little square rectifier on the tuner board is a well-known troublemaker, though unlikely to
be the cause for a completely dead set.
Along with the electrolytic capacitors, I like to replace this rectifier on every machine coming in here.

What's that about the heat problem ?
Did it become very warm on the cooling fins ?

Beomaster 3000-2

Hi,

I bought recently another beomaster 3000-2 (mine had a problem with the radio), to put on my desktop, beneath the computer.

Since a week, no problem, but yesterday i forgot to stop it, this morning it was on, but this afternnoon it was out, and i couldn't put it on again.

I changed the 2 fuse (one of them was burned), but it doen't work.

what could it be ? some one has an idea .....?
