For the caps kit, drop Martin (member username Dillion) a PM to ask him. I also got a kit from him for my BM6000 and it was a very reasonable price. Not to mention that it comes with nice coloured, clear instructions and diagrams for installation!

As far as an easy job this depends on your experience and how much spare time you have, I not having any, sent mine to a repair centre. The older gentleman there was quite experienced with componant repairs, but he found it quite time consuming (doubled with a busy period at the time, it took him a while to finish) , I think probably for the reasons Fredrik has mentioned as its quite fiddly getting all the boards in and out.

That said, my unit sounds real sweet, smooth and effortless now!

Best you get the kit and have a look and see if your able to do it, and have a repair guy on hand just in case you can't.

Laurence.

If u can solder and desolder components its pretty straight forward. Just keep in mind the polarity of the caps. Most difficult and time consuming work is to remove the boards and put them back again. Complete one board at a time.

Replacing old electrolytic caps will be my recommendation to get the clarity back.

Ive tried playing with all the filters and bass and treble but there is no sharpness and clarity of sound compared with my Beomaster 6000.

Any ideas??
