the proper connector for the FM aerial socket is a female IEC aerial plug. Any decent electronics store should carry them. Failing that, get a TV antenna cord and snap off the wrong (male plug) end. Then strip ~75 cm of the free end, separate the center conductor and the sleeve, spread them out and you have a quite competitive FM antenna.

But, it's far from critical and it doesn't matter if you happen to short the socket. Any length of wire you manage to wrap around the center connector in the socket will probably work for strong and medium stations.

Re: Beomaster 5500 cables or dins

Well.... I went and did buy DIN2 plugs, hooked up a pair of AR12s from the dark ages and it sounds great. NOw I have the little stuff to contend with like figuring out how to get the proper connector for an FM antenna and to see if I can find a 5500 CD or turntable to add.

Re: Beomaster 5500 cables or dins

Thank you, not a fan of EBay but appreciate your help.

Re: Beomaster 5500 cables or dins

HI

Do you have the remote control for the beomaster,if you have the best cd solution would be a b&o beogramcd 5500/6500/7000 it has the din plug(7 pin) as standard and when you connect it to your beomaster it has datalink so you can control the cd from your remote.About speaker plugs the are din standard and I think you can get them anywhere
