&lt;p&gt;i would suggest getting the service manual and pulling out the mechanism and giving everything a good clean. i used circuit board cleaner/contact cleaner to remove the old grease which had dried and gone quite hard and then relubricated with a new grease... fixed all my problems.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The other day I went to play a tape and it keeps kicking it out of play mode and I also don&amp;#39;t hear the motor running .&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The belts are new .&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Any ideas ?&lt;/p&gt;
