The CDX attaches via Aux In and is selected via the Aux button. I would suggest the CDX may needs servicing - they have a common fault to do with solder joints. That would however normally present with the CDX not reading discs. If the iPod works fine, I cannot see the problem being in the BC4000. There is no Datalink to mess up and the CDX connects with RCA plugs. As far as the BC4000 is concerned, both are sending line level signal and it cannot tell the difference.

CDX5122/Beocenter4000

I need some help with a technical problem. I have a CDX5122 and a Beocenter 4000, with twin tape decks radio and tuner, which were purchased in the U.K in 1983 and are now in Los Angeles. Although the CDX appears to work normally it does not generate sound through the 4000. However, if I disconnect the CDX from the 4000 and then connect my IPod, I get normal sound through the 4000. If I then reconnect the CDX, I also get normal sound but this only lasts for the duration of one CD. Since the 4000 was never sold in the US, I have been unable to get any help locally. Any suggestions as to the cause of the problem and possible solutions?
