Conventionally, the round pin is positive (+) - I think the cone moves outwards then. Anyway, it doesn't matter which way they are, as long as both speakers are connected in the same way. Unfortunately B&O cables typically look completely symmetrical from the outside, so you'll have to do the battery test (or open the speaker and look/measure).

Trial and error is another possibility. If the speakers are connected differently, particularly the bass end will sound like crap (most audible when the speakers are closely side by side). Then just swap the wires in one of the connectors.

Hi,

I have just got hands on a pair of old Beovox speakers. Unfortunately they came with no speaker plug attached to the cable. The speakers have to be connected to a Beomaster 4000.

I remember from my younger days I were connecting a 1.5 Volt battery to the cable, and if the speaker were moving forward, I should connect the wire from the plus-pole to the ... pin. Well, I can’t remember.

So question is, how do I correctly connect the two wires to the two pins in a DIN plug. How to figure out, which wire go to the round pin and which to the squared pin? Or plus and minus?
