I was going off load the MX 7000 , if the advant turns out to be ok, however with it having active speakers i might bung it in the conservatory inplace of the MX4500. presumably I can sit an ipod on the top ?

Neil, I would imagine that if the advant is a video model the stb controller will have some older firmware, I detest SKY so don't want to use a skybox. Reading old post's people seem to rave about topfield PVR's, as there plentiful on ebay i thought i'd probably get one of those. Is there anyone i can get an updated eprom off for the STB ( rather than pay for an engineer to come out)

Oh and yes ill post a pick of the screen as i'd like to try and sort it, although it will probably be next week now as im off on a course to Durham for a week.

Thanks for your help

Steve.

Re: Beovision LS 5500 dying

Hi Steve,

If you can post a picture of the problem, I can probably point you to the fault.

Neil

Re: Beovision LS 5500 dying

With the price of B&O CRT's been so low, I would just look for another one on Ebay.

Craig

Beovision LS 5500 dying

The old Beovision LS5500 is playing up a little. The top a bottom frame has collasped in a bit and there are black lines jumping across the screen.
