Check that all switches operate and will lock in and out.

Tune in to where an FM station is expected to be found, causing the two red lamps to illuminate equally when you are spot on, if you travel the dial you can easily "feel" what I mean. Firstly I am in Penzance, Cornwall.

I have tried with the speaker switches in and out and still no sound. I have 2 red lights on the front between where it says 'TUNING FM' and 'AM'.

Its nice to hear that this system is rare and has a nice sound. Picked it up for £20 in a charity shop. Just hope it doesn't cost me a fortun to get working!

Sam.

Re: Beomaster 1500 NO SOUND OUTPUT please help

Hi Sam,

Welcome to Beoworld !

You have one of the slightly rarer Beomasters. A nice little receiver with a very pleasant sound (when working of course). If you'd let us know where you are located, we may be able to guide you to a repairer.

There can be many reasons for it not to work. Aging capacitors is causing lots of problems (ready made kits are available) but also the idle current trimmers in the output stages are prone to failure.

Do you have light in any of the lamps on the front ? If you have light, are the speaker switches in ?

Martin

Beomaster 1500 NO SOUND OUTPUT please help

I have recently purchased a B&O Beomaster 1500 to go with my Beogram 1500. I set it all up as it should be, switched it all on but there was no sound. I took the top off the beomaster and checked the speaker output fuses....both blown. I replaced these hoping that it would fix the problem but still no sound and the new fuses did not blow. Is there a common fault that can easily be fixed? Any ideas as to what the problem could be?

Many thanks

Sam.
