Yeah, nice 'piece of history', but it shows if you want to get your hands on something like that you have to be lucky and rich :).

I keep my eyes on Ebay Germany and always feel sad at the end....like a beolit portable transistor radio goes easily for about 500 euros.

But it makes me wonder if and how many old things come from houses being 'cleaned up' (for example when granny dies) and get thrown away.

Anyway, it's a nice challenge to keep searching for these nice oldies...(for an affordable price that is).

Yes, with a genuine interest in these old beauties, I couldn't help but noticing this one.
Quite rare and I believe it was made in 1937 along with it's bigger brother the Hyperbo Senior.

1930's B&O are rare to see, the previous years model (36KL) slightly more common but still far between.
Wonderful piece and seems to be in excellent condition, confirmed
also by the ending price which also proves that the older
models are generally more and more sought after.
Remember to add the end-listing fee (DKK 200 or so) plus a fee of 20%
of the ending price that buyer must also pay, then packing/shipping etc.
Had the seller known the value of this one I suppose he would
have taken a couple of seconds to remove the candlelight drips.
A shame really to list anything like this and, as frequent
visitors to this forum will know, I don't fancy this particular
auction house and would strongly suggest the winning bidder to
go there himself and check out the radio personally before paying and
preferably before even bidding.

It could be fun to hear if a fellow Beoworld'er won this one.

Also, don't just plug any old valve thing into the mains before having it checked or serviced.
The risk of personal injury or serious damage to the set itself is very high, especially if the set stood unused for ages.

Do leave servicing to someone who knows about valve stuff, this is nothing like modernday electronics.
There are potentially lethal voltages inside, some still resident when power has been off for even a long period of time.

I had never seen one of these rare vintage radios before

(same dial than an Hyperbo RGS).

Do you know something about this radio?
