They always look totally modern and top of the line equipment.

Now just a few thoughts from a complete novice here, could the static be some sort of feedback from the PC? Have you tried perhaps a CD player or similar to the inputs and see if you get the same situation? The other thing was, you said that the output for the radio is far louder? I have an Ipod to TP1 and CD/DVD to TP2 and the output while softer than radio is not dramatically so... could this also be one of the reasons / indicator of a problem?

Anyway, good luck with it, your very lucky to have both these beautiful systems!

Re: Beomaster 8000 static at 3.0 volume

Thank you Martin. Actually, I'm not new to Beoworld, just to the NEW Beoworld You may recall that a couple of years ago you generously helped me with the volume control motor on my BM6000 (I'm a fan of the 6000/8000 style). Well, the motor works great now, but the BM6000 is still at the repair shop (again, about 2 years duration) supposedly having an IC replaced. I'm not exactly rushing them at the moment, because I am a little scared of the repair bill.

Now, back to my BM8000. Does the static at certain volumes (and not with the radio tuner) sound consistent with bad caps? When I originally purchased the unit about 3 years ago, the owner assured me that it had a full service with cap replacement (although I certainly don't take his word as Gospel truth).

Do you have a cap kit I can purchase? I suppose that replacing the caps is not a job for an amateur like me.

Thanks again.

Re: Beomaster 8000 static at 3.0 volume

Hi and welcome to Beoworld !

Sounds like your Beomaster 8000 has a problem with the pre-amplifier.
