However PowerLink did not make an appearance until the 6500, so that's going to be the major problem with using the AV7000 with the 5000.

Re: b&o AV 7000

There was a third-party modification to allow discrete 5.1 in (through one of the two PowerLink ports) from DVD players which had separate line-level outputs for each channel, or an outboard DTS/DD decoder with the same. It would be rare, but not impossible, for you to have such a unit. Otherwise this is actually a Dolby Pro Logic matrix surround decoder, not that there's anything wrong with that.

Re: b&o AV 7000

This is a US device which allows the use of third party video equipment and gives you remote control via a Beolink 1000. It is really designed for use with a Beosystem 7000 so I can't offer much insight into how it will connect to a 5000 system which uses a completely different remote. It offers amplification for the centre channel of the surround system and Powerlink sockets for use with Beolab speakers for the front and rears. It only has Dolby Prologic and I dare say the third party codes are a bit dated.

b&o AV 7000

i recently perchased a AV 7000. im looking to hook up with my 5000 system. i need to know what i will need . tjhanks, rich this unit is a 5.1 dolby audio surround sound processor.
