The 3rd receiver was for my MX 4500.

Having changed the setting to L and done a frequency scan I find that I can get a black and white picture of the tv guide when the satellite receiver is in tv guide mode but as soon as tv guide mode is exited the picture disappears completely....... very strange.

To ensure that the TV powers up and runs ok I purchased an up-converter that converts USA power up to 220 volts so it is not a power issue. For some reason it is just not recognising / able to display the American picture or sound transmission.

My wife and I will be totally gutted if we don't get it working as we both love that tv.

Re: Beovision MX 4500 help required

Hi NightOwl,

Welcome to BeoWorld

To switch between the tv-systems, press SHIFT + 3.

"B" = PAL/SECAM B/G

Beovision MX 4500 help required

Hi all.

For many years now I have lovingly owned a Beovision MX 4500. I puchased it way back in the 80's in Hertfordshire, England and it moved with me to Northamptonshire and now (having just moved again) over to North Carolina in the USA. It still looks great and works great

Unfortunately over the years I have mislaid the owners manual (it is probably in one of the many moving boxes still waiting to be unpacked).

What I desperately need to know is how to change the channel frequency reception to NTSC. I have tried many combinations from the remote but all to no avail. The remote is not the original - it was replaced with a similar later model B&O remote when the keypad needed replacing and the old style keypad layout was no longer available.

Some help on this would really be appreciated.
