Doesn't sound too serious to me, might be a loose contact after transporting the set.

I don't think you have other options to connecting than using RF through the aerial input. Most VCR's have an RF modulator, so you can connect one of them and then other stuff to the SCART of the VCR (select "AV" or something on the VCR, and it would show the signal coming in through the SCART). I have a Philips DVD recorder, which would also do the job. Since the Beovision doesn't have any other kind of input, I'm afraid adding one would be quite a big job as it probably doesn't have any provisions for that inside, either.

There are also stand-alone RF modulators, but getting one new will probably cost you more than a fully working old VHS!

Beovision 7100

Hello everybody!

I have just picked up a Beovision 7100 (1982-1983) and can't seem to get it working

The red indicator light does come on but the on/off switch doesn't stay in - and even if I hold it in, there is no image. Something must have happened in transit, as it was definitely working in the seller's house. I'm told the set has been serviced regularly and certainly looks like brand new. In your practice, dear B&O enthusiasts and pros, does this sound like something serious or fixable? Is it just the switch that has broken or possibly something more?

Secondly, how does one go about connecting modern DVD players, VCRs, digiboxes etc to a vintage Beovision? The 7100 only has the antenna rod and the two 5-pin TAPE and AMP ports. Is there some sort of an adaptor available for Scart and/or S-video?

Any advice much appreciated!

Many thanks!
