I have known strands of wire inside the plug body to become free and cause problems with shorting.

Chris.

Which DIN cable?

I managed to snag a pair of S80s. I haven't received them yet, but I hear they only have a DIN socket.

Is this correct? If so, is it the 2-pin type?

Also, what gauge wire can I use with 2-pin DIN? I think I'll just buy the plug from my local electronics store and solder it to some hifi wire.
