Sounds like a microphone amplifier which is different altogether. An RIAA will be a simple little box with an input and an output and no other controls. You can, if you have one, use an old integrated amplifier as long as it has an input designed for a record player. This would work by attacking the 1700 to the input and then attacking the Century or ouverture to the Tape out of the amplifier. You can pick up amplifiers like this at any flea market for about five pounds - or less!
