Thanks to all who responded to this post for thinking of me.

The platter that I need is for the DC motor version of the 4002 (Thin metal platter that rests on a separate sub platter).

Thanks also for the pics. What a gorgeous piece of casting and construction!

I'm afraid it's not.

There are two different platters used in the Beogram 4002's
- One for the AC motor version; The platter is very thick and has the subplatter
integrated (where the belt sits). You cannot take off this type of
platter without removing the belt.

- Another for the DC motor version, the platter is "merely" a 3-4mm thick
top piece with a separate subplatter. You can take off the platter without disturbing the belt.

The latter is also used on Beogram 4004 and 6000 (tangential).
All other Beograms and Beocenters have platters different from these.

I have one from a Beogram 6006/8000 it looks the same but not sure if it is??

No use I'm afraid applemac1 - this is off a beocenter 2200 although is would fit the 3500/4500 and other derivatives. The 4002 has a normal small hole for the spindle and is quite a bit heavier.

I have a platter which I believe to be off of a 4000 but I'm pretty sure it is different to the 4002. The one I have has a VERY thick platter which is made of 2 parts, the top plate and a cast aluminium lower part with the timing marks on it. Not sure if this is any use to th OP?

Hi, I came across this while I was looking on ebay its on ebay in germany but he will send worldwide although it states it for a beogram 3500/4500 it might be ok for yours, Im no expert. Anyway it has 2 days and 6 hours left as of present for end of auction and is at 5.55 euros at the moment. Here is the ebay link hope this is of help to you.

Beogram 4002 Platter

Friends:

Does anyone have a spare "mint" condition Beogram 4002 platter?

The 4002 that I own was given to me disassembled with the aluminum pieces thrown in a bag. The edges of the platter sadly is scratched and dinged.

I would be delighted to hear from you if you've got one.
