Does anyone know what this is for? Should it perhaps be removed?

2) Apparently there were different versions of the Beogram 4000, albeit with the same type number. Slightly different motor, different servo mechanism and there were also different pickup arms. One of the arms could simply slide on because it had an internal socket that of course matched the plug sitting on the base. The other had wires coming from the pickup fitting and these would need soldering to the base. Which of these is the new version and would the newer version be same that was fitted on the Beogram 4002?

3) Was the early version of the Beogram 4002, which was fitted with an AC motor, also fitted with the same quite heavy platter as the Beogram 4000?

Best regards

Henrik
