Beautifully made and they sound wonderful. A little bass light compared to the best decks - Beogram 3000 Thorens etc - but just wonderful! Very pleased to hear yours is working again.

Re: BG 6000

Just got the deck back. Near as I can tell it was a capacitor problem. Cost me a few dollars but to date its the best sounding deck I have heard from the B&O range. (Got to update the BG8002 yet).

I should have got the capacitor kit from Martin as a matter of course (have done so before). I think I ended up getting lost/tied up on problems that could have been otherwise easily resolved.

beoaus...

Re: BG 6000

Hi Martin,

I think the problem is simpler. The BG6000 sounds great when playing the records (in fact better than all other turntables I have with a new cartridge) and there are no obvious signs of a power supply issue.

Its like a sensor or relay is causing the issue.. Maybe some lubrication is needed...

Thanks, Beoaus.

Re: BG 6000

Seems a rather confused deck.

Probably an electronic fault, maybe unstable power supply.

Martin

Re: BG 6000

Still a bit stuck on this one, any ideas?

Thanks beoaus

Re: BG 6000

Ok tried this.

There is a springloaded mechanism that sits under the arm and to the left about 3 inches. A long tight spring on the left, a piston of sorts in the middle and another smaller/wider spring to the right that holds arms. The movement of this mechanism is smooth when it moves to the left. When it reaches the far left the mechanism loudly unloads. The arm starts to the right. Then this mechanism unloads again. Holding the off button does allow the carrage to return though the clicking and unloading of the sprung mechanism is not correct.

Hope this explanation is reasonable.

Beoaus.

Re: BG 6000

Easiest way to do this is to remove the aluminium plates on the top and then run the deck. You can do this by pulling the wood trim forward. It will make identifying the problem much easier

Re: BG 6000

Hmmm, practically impossible to
diagnose without actually having it on the bench but I
suppose you will have to locate the source of the clicking.

Martin

BG 6000

Got my hands on a BG6000 (The quad version).

It has a few problems. The first one being a loud clicking sound when the arm starts to move. The record then plays to the end. The arm raises to return, moves slightly then clicks loudly, drops and plays the last few minutes of the record again. This process repeats.

If I move the arm via the < button or the > button I get the loud clicks as well.

Hope its an easy fix.

Thanks, Beoaus.
