The nude line is very similar to the original MMC1/2, I like them better than my Father's original MMC2. It's hard to compare any analog source to CD but nude line has the clairity. The problem though is that it takes some time to adjust tracking weight to reduce P- and S-sound distortion (sibilance).

I could live with a shibata, if my speakers are linear to bright sounding. Nude line for speakers that are mellow to linear sounding.

I have Linn Ninka loudspeakers with Hiquphon OWI treble, which I believe has a neutral and balanced sound.

I wonder if the Nude Line is more like the orginal MMC1 / MMC2 sound?

How is the Nude Line and Shibata treble compared to playing CD's?

Is the Shibata so much better sounding and musical that you can live with the attenuated treble?

What speakers do you use with your setup?

I have the shibata on sapphire cantilever option, two nude line on aluminum cantilever and an elliptical on aluminum cantilever.

The shibata is definately more delicate sounding, but the attentuated treble response may be a bit annoying if your speakers already are dark sounding. I have come to the conclusion that my nude line cartridges sound better than shibata in my Beosystem 8000 because of treble-shy Beovox MS150.2's (probably in need of a recap sometime). On the other hand, the shibata-equipped cartridge is very good in my Beosystem 4400 with recapped Beovox S75's which can sound harsh with a bright sounding stylus. The shibata is mellow compared to the bright nude line.

I asked Axel about the difference between aluminum and sapphire, he said that there would be little audible difference. I chose aluminum because it definately is sturdier than sapphire.

I want Axel Shurholz / Shallplattennadeln.de to repair my broken MMC1 cartridge on my Beogram 7000, but what is the best choice ?

1. Shibata with aluminum cantilever

2. Shibata with sapphire cantilever

3. Nude Line with aluminum cantilever

4. Nude Line with original sapphire cantilever

I have read that the Shibata has an attenuated treble, but is more delicate and musical sounding.

Is the sapphire cantilever superior to the aluminum cantilever ?

On the other hand, I would like to have the sound to be as close to the original B&O sound as possible.

What is the best choice for the Beogram 7000 / Beosystem 7000, what do you recommend ?
