&lt;p&gt;The damping is electronically controlled and a fix is mentioned in &lt;a target="_blank" href="http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/p/38670/321167.aspx#321167"&gt;this&lt;/a&gt; earlier thread.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description></item><item><title>BeoGram 8002 -arm not lowering</title><link>https://archivedforum.beoworld.org:443/forums/thread/353555.aspx</link><pubDate>Tue, 10 Jan 2012 19:19:54 GMT</pubDate><guid isPermaLink="false">41a2a90c-3a1e-4bd3-b144-3883695a7f38:353555</guid><dc:creator>Steffen</dc:creator><slash:comments>0</slash:comments><comments>https://archivedforum.beoworld.org:443/forums/thread/353555.aspx</comments><wfw:commentRss>https://archivedforum.beoworld.org:443/forums/commentrss.aspx?SectionID=29&amp;PostID=353555</wfw:commentRss><description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span id="result_box"&gt;&lt;span class="hps"&gt;I&amp;#39;ve just bought &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="hps"&gt;a&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;Beogram&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;8002&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;very cheap&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;,&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;with&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;a&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;functioning&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;MMC4&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;pickup.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="hps"&gt;Only problem&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;is&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;that the arm&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;will not always&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;lower.&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;I press&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;Play&lt;/span&gt; - the &lt;span class="hps"&gt;arm&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp;moves to the edge of the record&amp;nbsp;&lt;span class="hps"&gt;-but&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;sometimes&lt;/span&gt; it will &lt;span class="hps"&gt;not be lowered&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;onto the record.&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;When&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;it finally&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;span class="hps"&gt;does, it is&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="hps"&gt;&amp;nbsp;almost&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp;a&lt;span class="hps"&gt; free fall&lt;/span&gt; (no dampening)&lt;span class="hps"&gt;.&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;It plays&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;perfectly&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;(when&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp;the &lt;span class="hps"&gt;arm&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;has lowered&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="atn"&gt;) -&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;no speed&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;differences&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;- no&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;&amp;#39;dead&amp;#39;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;points in the&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;horizontal&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;arm&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;movements&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="hps"&gt;I&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;#39;ve read&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;on another&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;thread&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;(from&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;2008) about&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;span class="hps"&gt;a&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;Beogram&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;8000&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;which&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;had&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;the problem.&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;There was&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;something&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;about&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;a switch&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;under the cover&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;at the arm&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;parking&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;position&lt;/span&gt; -&lt;span class="hps"&gt;and&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;then there was&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;a picture&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;posted by&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps atn"&gt;Martin (&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;dillen&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;).&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;Unfortunately&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;this picture&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;does not open&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;anymore.&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;Are you able&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;to post&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;it&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;again&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;, Martin&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;if&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;you read&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="hps"&gt;this?&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="hps"&gt;How about the dampening of the arm vertically -is it mechanical or electronic?&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
