Haven't had a chance to look up which lamp this is that you're looking for but may have one going spare - no guarantees that it works as on my spares deck. SO let me know which it is and I'll have a look.

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your replies.I am searching for a new arm and am hopeful! How do I go about buying the belts and the OIL 1 (6v 30mA) if you have it?e-mail peter4oaks@btinternet.com I notice the lamp has some heat sink compound.I assume to disapiate heat into the cover.I have bought some from my local electronics shop.I removed the blown one very carefully and think it got damaged in transit as I can see the filament inside.I can also see the 6v across it,as instructed by the sve manual.This deck was sold in excellent condition by the seller.So I must assume the electronics are good! All motors are good and passes all tests up to OIL 1 lamp

Bad luck indeed - I had the same problem. I managed to knock together a replacement by breaking up the adapter that you can get to attach the beogram cartidges to standard tonearms - it wasn't hugely satisfactory and in the end I eventually got a replacement arm via beoworld. I did publish photos of what I did on the old forum - I'll see if I can dig them out. I might have the bulb - will have a look.

Hi Martin, I think after looking at service manuals the 1102 type 5715-5711 is the closest.Its takes a MMC3000 therefore the face of the mount were the cartridge and mount marry up must be the same. I have stripped out the inside of the arm and it may be possible! If this is one of the arms you have and you can take a close up photo and send to me.I was careful removing the lamp but the photo resistors seem hidden.I can't see them! my e-mail is peter4oaks@btinternet.com

What a shame. Almost sounds as if the people shipping didn't take the platter out?

I took no chances with mine. Actually drove 1.200 kilometers roundtrip through three (!) countries to pick it up. Placed it in the back seat with additional cushioning after having taken out the platter and adding bubblewrap around the arms.

I've already been informed that I should look out for a good spare-parts Bg4000 to keep on hand - from this thread that sounds increasingly difficult!

Thanks Martin.I think the lamp could be sourced from a good electronic shop.would you agree? I'm searching for the arm or maybe a complete slide from a broken player.i think the cartridge holder may become brittle with time and then does not enjoy transit! I'll get back to you for the belts.I hope I get to that stage.

I have new belts and may also have the lamp.
Watch out for that optical sensor behind the lamp.
Replacing the sensor is hard and finding a new is impossible so do be careful.

You are not the first in this situation... Beogram 4000 parts are becoming scarce and I don't have a spare arm.
We've discussed it earlier but I don't recall ever reaching a conclusion
if the cartridge holder from a lower grade Beogram deck (1100/1102/1500 or similar) could
be fitted to the BG4000 tonearm. I have a couple of tonearms for these models to play with but currently no BG4000 within reach.
Did anyone try this ?

Bad luck. Mine was destroyed in transit as well but I got it working with the help of my service department. Martin could possibly help though a 4000 arm could be beyond even him.

I have bought a 4000 on e-bay in working order!However it got damaged in transit(I was warned)The problem is the cartridge holder/connections on the arm.I am trying to repair myself with a very good service manual.The arm (Part 2850052) is a push on fit to the arm holder.This arm was later modified but requires a replacement counterbalance weight.So its the earlier arm I require.Can anyboby help! I also need bulb OIL 1 (Photo resistor light 6V 30mA) and belts,although I think I can source these.
