Well, the Concept is obviously also in a completely different market range than the BG3000 (it's high-end, where the 3000 is vintage Hi-Fi), so I'd expect a bit better sound quality from a brand new deck.

If I want to transition to a tangential deck, I'd probably get myself a BG5005. IMO it's the only tangential deck that really matches the styling of the Beosystem 2000 correctly, the 3000 does quite a poor job at that. (The 'flat' appearance of the BG2000 versus the BM/BC2000 I think is quite characteristic)

If I'd were to start from scratch, I'll get my hands on a Beosystem 5500/6500/7000/9000 stack...

Thanks Peter....I figure I can always sell at minimal to no loss or even a profit if I want to upgrade...that's the nice thing about used B&O!

Good buy - probably the value buy of the range. Nice simple deck with less to go wrong than the 4000 or 8000 ranges and has datalink so will work well with the 9500.

Bought a Beogram 3000 with new SMM4 cart so that should do the trick. Not the best but will do just fine.

Hello I'm a Beogram newbie and I'd like to get one for my Beocenter 9500. I haven't had a record player in years. I understand I don't want one with RIAA built in such as the 3500/4500/6500/7000. Other than that I know the Beogram 9500 is a cosmetic match but is hard to find and not always the perfect choice anyway. I would like a decent B&O turntable and although I don't need the absolute best I'd like one that isn't going to be as good as I'm able to appreciate it more. I know the cartridge has a lot to do with this as well. What models should I consider? I understand the 8002 has a very good reputation but what about the 3000 series such as the Beogram 9000/9500 and what about the 4000/4002 etc. Like I said I'm not looking for the perfect cosmetic match just a great turntable to be able to start using.
