Soundsmith cartridges are a snugger fit than the original ones but I have an SMMC20EN myself and it fits fine.

Re: cartridge/stylus replacement

I am still waiting for the part to come, but thanks for your help.

Did you buy yours through soundsmith? glad to hear you're satisfied.

I looked at the cartridge, and it seem tough to get at the little copper tab without yanking up on the arm. what kind of tool did you use to move the tab.

thanks

Re: cartridge/stylus replacement

Ditto that procedure, I second that motion as I just reinstalled the same SMMMC20EN on my 1700 after fixing the wiring interconnects.

Please inform us if you like the sound, I think it's better than the oroginal but then again , I don't use the same Beogram.

Regards, ihor

That hooks into the bottom of the cartridge which then simply pushes onto the plastic prong at the top of the arm. Put it on with the stylus guard in position.

cartridge/stylus replacement

just bought a replacement MMC 20 EN cartridge for my Beogram 3404. I was hoping someone could help me, or point me in the right direction for help, with installing the new cartidge. spent way too much money, don't want to screw it up.
