In days gone by, amplifiers had a dedicated record player input which amplified the signal internally - most amplifiers these days do not have this so you need an external one. Prices vary from a few tens of pounds to thousands. A few tens will do!

Re: 3300 turntable - non B&O amp issues

Does anyone else have any other advice at all with regards to the possible pre-amp issue.

Re: 3300 turntable - non B&O amp issues

Brilliant, thanks Andy.

Re: 3300 turntable - non B&O amp issues

Welcome to Beoworld.
What a lovely thing to receive!
I know that the Amp that went with the Beogram 3300 has a built in pre amp, so presume that the deck didn't.
If I'm wrong, someone will soon come round and correct me.
LifeStyle AV sell preamps for around £75 as do Sounds Heavenly. Is this something to do with the earthing or do I need to buy a pre-amp? If I need to buy a pre-amp, what do I need to look out for or has anyone had any experience at all?
