The first thing to do is find one! Soundsmith make new ones or get an old one retipped. I think your 3000 may be a bit past it though! There is actually a thread on the go at present stating how to change the cartridge - very easy is the answer!

It is 30 years old!! It probably has some wear on it because the left channel is almost mute. Is there any tutorial in how to change the cartridge?

That is quite an old cartridge! Probably about 30 years old! I would imagine it will have some wear on it so I would consider getting a new one if you find yourself using the record player a lot.

I tried 1.5g and it seems to be ok now. The carttridge is the mmc 3000

Try 1.5g - depends a bit on the cartridge you are using but that will suit most.

Yes, it's a standard issue. A drop of oil is all it needs.

It worked!!!! The arm of the record player is now working perfectly thanks to you!!!!

To be honest i didn't believe all that nedded was a drop of oil until i saw it!!!

There is also one last thing: The arm sometimes seems to jump over the record and it's like skiping some parts of a song. Is there a problem with the weight? Did i put too much oil and did something wrong?

If the 1902 works, and is cheap, you could get it anyway. If you prefer the surround of the 1102, the parts will just swap. I would however not swap arms etc as this is very complicated, as Martin says. The 1902 has a heavier platter.

Of course, I cannot be 100% sure but it's the diagnose in more than 99% of these cases.
I shall not be the one to judge other peoples skills and I don't know who looked at it for you, he may be right in his diagnose, but
it wouldn't be the first time we hear that "something unobtainable" needs replacing or "it would be too expensive to fix" when the
truth is the guy at the repairshop didn't know what or how to do. Servicing B&O is not like anything else.
Worth a drop of oil for a try, I think.

Replacing the arm with one from another deck requires a full alignment of the Beogram and that's neither easy nor quickly done.
There's a also a good chance that the donor mech. will have seized too, they all seem to do this sooner or later.

I took it to a technician and he said the machanism is broken

Beogram 1102 and 1902

Hello everyone!!!

I have an old beogram 1102. Unfortunately there is aproblem with it. It works just fine but when the record ends the arm instead of lift up and return to its rest position it doesn't lift and it goes back to its rest position scratching the record.

There must be something wrong with the mechanism, i guess.

I don't know how to fix but i found a beogram 1902 at ebay. These two have the same mechanism? What i thought was to buy the beogram 1902 and replace the mechanism or the arm of my 1102 with the on of 1902

Does this sound ok?

Is there any other solution?
